On September 25, Goldwind and Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF) officially signed a wind turbine supply agreement in Bangkok. Goldwind will supply GWH182 series wind turbines for four projects with a total installed capacity of 286MW. The projects are expected to enter commercial operation in the second half of 2027. Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi, Vice Chairman and CEO of GULF, Ms. Porntipa Chinvetkitvanit, Vice President of GULF, Mr. Tharaphut Kuhapremki, General Manager of Alpha Energy, Mr. Cao Zhigang, Vice Chairman and President of Goldwind, Mr. Wang Hai, General Manager of Goldwind International, and Mr. Dong Yinming, President of Goldwind Asia, jointly witnessed the project signing ceremony.
The project will be equipped with Goldwind's GWH182 series wind turbines, which are well suited to Thailand's typical medium- to low-wind-speed conditions. Combined with advanced intelligent control technology, the turbines significantly enhance wind energy capture efficiency and power generation performance, increasing the full-load operation ratio and delivering higher investment returns for the customer. The turbines are equipped with Goldwind's self-developed steel-concrete hybrid towers, featuring an integrated design that connects the turbine, tower, and foundation. The ultra-high tower structure significantly improves power generation efficiency in low-wind-speed areas, marking the first application of Goldwind's hybrid tower technology in Southeast Asia and contributing to the region's diversified wind power development. Meanwhile, this turbine series has obtained Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification issued by ICMQ, fully verifying its environmental performance across the entire lifecycle.
As Goldwind's flagship product for the global market, the GWH182 series made its debut in Türkiye earlier this month and has already been installed in multiple countries including Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, and Laos. The series has also secured market orders across multiple countries in South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi, Vice Chairman and CEO of GULF, stated that this agreement aligns with GULF's strategy of sourcing from globally leading and highly reputable suppliers. GULF and Goldwind have built a strong foundation of mutual trust and partnership through previous project collaborations, and look forward to continuing to work together in the future to explore a path of shared success toward a green future.
Mr. Cao Zhigang, Vice Chairman and President of Goldwind, stressed that GULF and Goldwind have been cooperating for many years and have become long-term and trusted partners. Goldwind will continue to provide Thailand with highly reliable and environmentally friendly wind power products, working hand in hand with GULF to contribute to the development of Thailand's green industries.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, with cooperation in clean energy emerging as an important pillar in strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Building on this collaboration, Goldwind will continue to innovate with GULF in areas including technology, manufacturing, products, and business models, working together to help Thailand achieve its energy transition goals at an earlier date.
