Tianrun Taohuashan ProjectDemonstration Wind farm in Low Wind-speed Area

The Tianrun Taohuashan wind farm is located in Taohuashan Town, Shishou Prefecture, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. This is hilly terrain at an elevation of 150-300m above sea level. The wind farm is located in an IEC IIIC-class wind zone and subject to freezing rain and frost. The project capacity is 49.5 MW, with 24 PMDD GW115/2000 ultra-low wind speed turbines and 1 GW93/1500 low wind speed turbine. This was Goldwind's first 2.0 MW project. The direct drive turbine technology ensures that these machines can achieve generation efficiency 5% greater than similar doubly-fed turbines in low wind speed areas.

The Taohuashan wind farm was completed and connected to the grid in September 2015. Since then, the wind turbines have achieved stable operation, with 99.7% availability and average faultless operation duration of 623.6 hours. Compared to coal-fired units of the same capacity, this wind farm replaces about 30,000 tons of standard coal per year and saves about 320,000 tons of water. Each year, this product reduces pollutant emissions by 188.2 tons of smoke and dust, 679.5 tons of SO2, 1504.3 tons of NOX, and 108,800 tons of CO2.

Longyuan Beibao ProjectHigh Efficiency and High Generation in a High Humidity Environment

The Longyuan Beibao project is located in Chongming, Shanghai, on the east coast of China, which experiences typhoon winds. In this area, wind turbines must be designed for IEC IIIB-class winds or above. Therefore, 19 Goldwind GW121/2500 turbines were selected for the project. The first equipment for the project arrived at the site in January 2015 and the units were installed, commissioned, and connected to the grid in just 100 days.

The Beibao project region has an annual average humidity of 80%, so the specialized pitch dehumidification solution was adopted. This solution can reduce the need for replacement parts, reduce downtime, reduce staff workload by nearly 40%, and increase power generation. Even with an average wind speed of less than 6 m/s, the project can generate more than 130 million kWh each year.

Tianrun Dashantai Wind farmShanxi's Largest Wind farm Will Achieve Complete Automation

The Dashantai wind farm in Pinglu, Shanxi Province, has a total installed capacity of 298.5 MW, with 199 sets of 1.5 MW turbine. This project started operating in 2012 and is Shanxi's largest wind farm. At first, an on-site staff of over 50 people was needed to operate the farm. However, with the introduction of an innovative regional scheduling model, it's hoped that the farm will be able to run unmanned. This will significantly reduce the owner's per kWh investment costs and the per kWh costs throughout the turbine lifecycle, while making the farm more grid-friendly.

Dingfeng Wind FarmGoldwind's Financing Products Help Private Companies Build Wind Farms

Riding on the global energy transition, more and more private investors are willing to enter the wind power industry. However, they face a shortage of funds, difficulty in obtaining loans, a lack of wind power operation experience, and other difficulties. Goldwind has designed four types of financial products, including financial leasing, to help private capital enter the wind power industry. Currently, Goldwind financial products have invested about 3 billion RMB to help private companies construct 10 wind farms with a total capacity of 500,000 kW.

The Dingfeng wind farm is located in Jinhua prefecture, in southwestern Pan'an County, Zhejiang. This wind farm has an installed capacity of 42 MW, with 21 GW115/2000 turbines. The project's owner had no wind farm development or management experience. The owner lacked startup capital and found it hard to obtain a bank loan. In the end, Goldwind financial products were used for 70% of the total project investment. The project was connected to the grid at the end of 2015. In 2016, it generated over 110 million kWh.

Goldwind believes that it has the responsibility to help companies interested in the Chinese wind power industry, so that more social forces will work together to ensure pure waters and clear skies for future generations.

Villonaco Wind FarmPromoting Sino-Ecuadorian Cooperation in Wind Power Construction

Construction of the Villonaco wind farm, the first onshore wind power project in Ecuador, started in 2012. The wind farm is located to the west of the city of Loja at an elevation of 2,700 meters above sea level. The average wind speed in this area is 10 m/s and the project has a total capacity of 16.5 MW. Goldwind provided 11 GW70/1500 turbines and EPC general contracting services for this project. In 2015, the Villonaco wind farm achieved over 5,600 annual equivalent standard utilization hours, a capacity factor of 63.97%, and generated over 92 million kWh of power.

The wind farm is a result of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Ecuador. Without a doubt, this project will continue to promote Sino-Ecuadorian cooperation in wind power development and construction.

Goldwind Dafeng Smart MicrogridChina's First Grid-connected Commercial Industrial Zone Microgrid Project

A microgrid is a small-scale power generation and distribution system composed of distributed energy sources, storage equipment, energy conversion equipment, and the associated load, monitoring, and protection equipment. Goldwind's Dafeng microgrid project in Jiangsu has an annual generation capacity of about 4.33 million kWh, equivalent to the domestic power consumption of 2,000 homes for a year. This project reduces CO2 emissions by 3,744 tons every year. The project provides greater environmental protection, security, flexibility and cost effectiveness, while effectively supplementing the main grid. This ensures enterprises have a secure and reliable power supply. It promotes urban integration and new rural construction, conforming to the philosophy of sharing and efficient economy.
