Recently, the first wind turbine of 1.75 Million kW Wind Power Generation Project of Gansu Guazhou Baofeng Wind Power Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Gansu Baofeng 1.75 Million kW Wind Power Project) was successfully installed in Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province. This is the onshore wind power project with the largest unit capacity in China, with a total of 333 Goldwind GWH191-5.27MW wind turbines. The smooth progress of the project has effectively guaranteed the early commissioning and efficiency of Gansu Baofeng Polysilicon Whole Industrial Chain Project. Additionally, the project is also the first large-scale "three green project" in China, which refers to the manufacturing of green PV equipment using green materials through green power and achieving a “loop from green to green”.
Gansu Baofeng 1.75 Million kW Wind Power Project, which has received investment from Ningxia Baofeng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., is part of the second batch of national demonstration source-grid-load-storage integrated projects in Shagehuang Base. The construction of the project construction commenced in April 2023. Once completed, the project is expected to generate approximately 4.993 billion kWh of electricity annually. Around 60%-70% of this electricity will be used for the production and operations of Gansu Baofeng Polysilicon Whole Industrial Chain Project.

The GWH191-5.27MW wind turbine used in this project is a medium-speed product developed by Goldwind. It is known for its high reliability, cost-effectiveness and environmental-friendliness. The wind turbine is designed with bending moment decoupling structure and yaw collector ring. It has an impeller diameter of 191m and excels in power generation capacity, efficient dispatching response and friendly grid connection. It has been installed in batches in various regions across the country and has gained market-wide acclaim for their stable operation.
Goldwind’s exceptional supply capacity ensures large-scale, high-efficiency and high-quality delivery in a short time. Prior to the project commencement, Goldwind made strategic investments in key components to align with the project timeline. During the transportation of parts, Goldwind engaged in meticulous planning to guarantee the prompt and efficient delivery.
To ensure that the installation and grid connection occur as scheduled, Goldwind implemented pre-process measures to install vibration detection equipment and automatic firefighting equipment before the final assembly. In addition, Goldwind adopted a commissioning-free scheme, conducting electrical commissioning of the nacelle impeller before it leaves the factory. Once the installation was completed, the on-site construction quality was verified, allowing for a seamless one-key start-up.
Goldwind also specially established a dedicated supply delivery team to closely monitor the installation progress. Since mid-March, it has been collaborating with Guazhou Baofeng Wind Power Development Co., Ltd. to receive the blades, transmission chains and nacelle impellers. In just one month, Goldwind has supplied up to 80 sets of these four major wind turbine components.
